The Committee of Marketing Science
The Committee on Marketing Science is the sub organisation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS), which is a national organisation, managing the scientific life of Hungary. See the details of the organisation on the following site: www.mta.hu.
The Committee on Marketing Science of HAS was re-established in 2005 within the IX. Section of Economics and Law. The members were elected through a two round secret voting procedure, from the registered members.
As a result of the election Dr. Gábor Rekettye, Doctor of HAS, the head of the Marketing Department at the University of Pécs, became the chair of the Committee. Present chair takes the honourable position from the establishing chair Pál Tomcsányi, member of HAS.
Members of the Committee are significant scientists of domestic marketing science, are professors of leading Universities and Business Schools. Seven, out of the 20 members, represent CorvinusUniversity and three the University of Pécs, while the other members represent the following institutions: University of Miskolc, University of Szeged, Széchenyi IstvánUniversity at Győr, the School of Modern Business Studies, and Károly Róbert College.
Following the traditions, the Committee would like to become the leading body in Hungary in terms of marketing theory. Orientating the activities of marketing research and education committees, its aim is to articulate directives, standpoints relevant to scientific research and higher education. With its activity the Committee would like to motivate and support the born and spread of scientific research and development results. With strengthening of international relations the Committee would like to help to develop and maintain the relations between domestic and foreign researchers, to acquaint and get acquainted with domestic and foreign research results.
